LEGISLATION
THE FAIR AND EQUITABLE SHARE SERVICE CHARGE DISTRIBUTION TRANSPARENCY ACT
DISTRIBUTION
We seek a fair and equitable share of service charges to be distributed to the service staff directly responsible for serving food and beverage to our guests. We seek the amount distributed to be a standard percentage which is to be consistent throughout the entire hotel food and beverage industry as due compensation for providing our guests service. Since this amount is paid by our customers and guests, the amount determined shall be consistent with our customer and guest expectations.

TRANSPARENCY
We ask that all distributed service charge amounts and percentages be shared with all associates who receive such payouts. Should there be any questions regarding the calculated amounts, we ask that the spreadsheets or methods of calculation be audited and verified to ensure accuracy. We ask that periodic audits be conducted as requested either annually or randomly to ensure transparency and integrity on an ongoing basis.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
On behalf of the National Food Servers Association, we wish to express our deep gratitude for your support and dedication in creating this positive and respectful change to the current ways in which service charges (aka gratuities and tips) are handled within the industry. Your support will help us secure and deliver what has been and what should always be a standard in the industry that future generations can count on!
